When You're Bold In Prayer, You Can Rest

I decided to be bold in my prayers; I would pray about every situation especially the ones that troubled me or that appeared to be insignificant.

Then my laptop fell which distorted images that were displayed. The laptop that contains all my files and all my writings. The laptop that is central to my livelihood. As my laptop hit the floor, two things happened: my spirit sank, and then I remembered my pray declaration.

After spending a significant time worrying and beating myself up for this mishap, I stopped and I prayed something along these lines, "Lord I bring this laptop before you. You said we can come boldly to
your throne and find grace in time of need..." I continued to pray expressing some doubt, wondering if this situation even warranted prayer. And I specifically asked that the problem that was caused by my laptop falling be removed.

Because we are told to pray without ceasing, I prayed. Because He promised that we can come boldly and find grace to help in time of need, I prayed.

The first thing that happened was I was no longer worried. I now felt confident that I would be able to handle whatever needed to be done to fix it. My hope also increased. As I claimed the promises of His word, I knew a broken laptop was not too small for his touch. I continued to work and noticed that the screen was now working correctly. It has worked properly since that day.

This little prayer for my trivial situation reinforced that God cares and He is faithful. So I will continue to pray boldly so that I won't worry and I can rest. This crazy world requires that we pray boldly.

So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:16 [NLT]

Do you pray boldly?

  1. Sometimes it does feel like a matter is too small to bring to His attention but the thing is He is there for us and we can always call out to him during the big and the seemingly not so big moments. Thank you for the reminder!

  5. We do need to go boldly before the throne don't we. I was having trouble submitting an article on fear, and got FB message that some guy was a hacker, I ignored it because another friend said they can't just have you through friend's lists, then next take people are telling me they got friend requests from somebody pretending to me. I felt I had to trust Him with this, and the Holy Spirit gave the phrase, "Why take ye the thought? " And even my article went through. Nice to talk to you Nylse.

  6. I so often forget but when I remember to pray about the things I need and give to God the things I can do nothing about, I have peace.

  12. Hello, I just have to tell you this...I was having a terrible panic attack one night and I desperately typed in “prayers for anxiety”. Your information came up & I took some screenshots. I now use that in my times of need. Your words have helped me get through my attacks more times than you could know! I believe God brought you to me. Thank you so very much, and may God bless you.
