Sometimes and maybe indicate uncertainty. Occasionally, but only some of the time. There are more definitive paths. That there may be other options. A mere possibility or probability.
However, always means every time, on every occasion, without exception.
When we read the stories in the Bible, though definitive in their telling, they are often infused with a sense of sometimes maybe in their application.
Sometimes, you'll hear God speak to you like he did to Moses.
Sometimes, he'll speak silently like he did to Elijah.
Maybe you'll have to walk through a (figurative) Red Sea like he did for the Egyptians.
Maybe you may be thrown in the (figurative) lion's den.
Sometimes, there's instantaneous healing, and sometimes, death is allowed.
As we ingest each part of God's living word, I think our response is always.
Always believe in Him.
Always know that He's available.
Always trust His ways.
Always know His character.
Because always, He speaks; always, He is God; always, He is faithful; always, He sees; always, He hears; always, he knows.
Have you never heard? Have you never understood?
The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of all the earth.
He never grows weak or weary. No one can measure the depths of his understanding. Isaiah 40:28 NLT
In spite of your uncertainty, always rely on God.
