What Do You Need Him to Be?

Have you ever read a book that changed you? If you've read such a book you will notice that upon each successive reading, you were transformed again because you noticed something new. Some books can do this but as an avid reader, I know that they're not as timeless or alive as the Bible. No book has impacted or changed me like the Bible.

Without knowing it, whenever you read the Bible it is ministering to your deepest needs because that's what it was meant to do. (2 Timothy 3:16) There is nothing that you are going through that you won't find a relatable story, phrase or thought that can provide insight, foresight, and hindsight for you and your situation. As you read and your deepest needs are met in a supernatural way, you may wonder why you've never done this before. Discover the God of the Bible, who is what you need to him to be, at just the right time.

Revelation – The Alpha and the Omega

As you read through this list of all sixty-six books in the Bible, you will reach a glorious crescendo once at Revelation. Only Jesus could be all of the things. Only He can become what you need so that you can see that life with Him is worthwhile. If you're struggling, if you're lost, if you're in despair, before you pick up any other book, pick up the Bible and let it minister to your deepest needs.

For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Hebrews 4:12

The grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of our God endures forever. Isaiah 40:8

  3. Hi Nylse, my favorite book to read is the bible. I have many favorite phrases but Philippians 4:6 profoundly changed my life. It strengthened my trust in God for EVERYTHING. I have been looking for Scriptures that talk about rebuilding and restoration and I am glad I have found them in this list. May God richly bless your ministry.

  4. I love the list you've meticulously provided for us, Nysle! It is such an encouragement to view the Scripture through this catalog of blessings and truths about God and His word. It would make a great infographic to share on Pinterest. Have you thought about doing something like that with it? I'll be sharing, my friend!
